Pushing past the desire to give up.

I can’t even believe that it has been two months since my last post! I decided to take the last few months off from my blog and coaching to get my postpartum doula work fully off the ground. It has been quite the journey, but I am here to tell you, that if you keep working on something, even if it feels like nothing is happening, something will suddenly click and things will start to fall right into place… and of course, then you need to still work some more haha.

When I initially started out to become a postpartum doula, I thought that I would do my training, do my online courses and then ta da! I could start a successful business. It didn’t really happen like that. I did my courses and training and felt very motivated to network with other birth workers and get my name out there, I even offered my services at a ridiculously low rate, just to gain the experience I needed. Well after about two months of this, and no client leads I was feeling very defeated. I tried to keep my spirits high and stay motivated, but at that point, its hard! One day I was on one of the postpartum doula facebook groups, when I saw a post for an agency hiring. I had heard some negative things about going through an agency because you make less money, but I wasn’t making any money running around networking with no experience. So I decided to go to the info night, apply and thankfully was hired on! If I had given into the feeling of all my hard work being pointless and I was never going to get anywhere, I would have failed. I am so grateful that I decided to push past that feeling and just keep trying, and that I made it to the pay off!

Now that I have got that down, I am back and ready to start coaching again! I only like to do things when I feel full passion for them and like I am putting my all into my clients, and while I was struggling with my own second career, it was hard for me to feel like I was in the place I needed to be to give my clients all that they deserve, so I took a break. Going through this experience has made me an even better coach, because now my passion for getting people to reach their goals is even higher than it was before! I have always wanted people to succeed and be happy, but now I NEED people to see, that if they push past when they want to give up, that is where success lies!

I would love to hear from any of you who have experienced this same magical feeling! Or if you would like to set up a free session to discuss how you need help getting yourself to this point, comment below or email me at happiestlifec@gmail.com
